Men’s basketball team headed to Haiti
The South Dakota State head men’s basketball Scott Nagy, along with a group of men’s basketball coaches and student-athletes, leave Brookings on Wednesday for a weeklong trip to Haiti, where they plan on distributing shoes and putting on a basketball clinic in conjunction with Samaritan’s Feet.

Jackrabbits dance ends with loss to Michigan
South Dakota State held Michigan’s star guard Trey Burke to a season-low six points, and Brayden Carlson scored 20 points to lead the Jackrabbits, but Burke’s Wolverine teammates picked up the slack in a 71-56 win over the Jackrabbits in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in front of 19,829 fans at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Carlson and Dykstra named academic all-league
The Summit League selected five men’s basketball players to the 2012-13 Summit League Academic All-League Team as voted by the Faculty Athletic Representatives and Sports Information Directors of the league’s nine member institutions. Voters chose the student-athletes for the honor based on their academic and athletic performances this season.

Jacks draw Michigan in NCAA Tournament
South Dakota State punched its ticket for the NCAA Tournament for a second straight year on March 12, with a 73-67 win over North Dakota State in The Summit League Championship Finals.
For their efforts, the Jackrabbits earned a No. 13 seed in the Big Dance and a date with No. 4 seed Michigan on Thursday at 6:15 p.m., in a game that can be seen live on CBS.
